Why Am I So Tired?” – A Personal Note on Burnout, Boundaries, and Getting Support

Lately, I’ve been having the same conversation with clients, friends, and fellow small business owners:“I’m exhausted. I just can’t keep up.”
And honestly? I’ve felt it too.
More than a third of adults say they feel tired most of the time. Burnout rates are through the roof. And as someone who runs a small business supporting other small businesses, I see firsthand how real this is—especially for those of us juggling everything.
The Fine Line Between Exhaustion and Burnout
Fatigue is part of life sometimes. But burnout is different—it’s deeper. It’s when tired turns into numb. When your motivation disappears and your energy tank is empty, no matter how much sleep you get.
Burnout is a real occupational condition. It shows up as emotional and physical exhaustion, disconnection from your work, and a growing sense that what you’re doing doesn’t really make a difference. And in our always-on, hustle-driven world, it’s becoming all too common.
As a VA, I talk to people who are stretched thin, running on caffeine and calendar reminders, trying to be everything for everyone. Sound familiar?

What Helped Me (and Might Help You)
I’ve learned a few things along the way—sometimes the hard way—and I wanted to share them, in case they resonate:
Know when you’re outside your comfort zone too long. Growth is good, but constant stress isn’t. If everything feels urgent all the time, it’s a sign to pause.
Figure out what drains you vs. what fuels you. Some tasks are energising; others are just… not your thing. And that’s okay.
Let go of the pressure to do it all. You really don’t have to wear every hat in your business. You’re allowed to ask for help.
Support is not a weakness. It’s smart. Whether it’s taking time to rest, getting therapy, or hiring a VA to take admin off your plate—it’s all part of protecting your energy.
You Deserve Breathing Room
That’s where I come in. Through TM Business Support, I help small business owners, creatives, and solopreneurs reclaim their time, clear the clutter (both digital and mental), and get back to doing what they actually love.
Whether it's inbox management, calendar coordination, client onboarding, or just being that steady hand in the background—you don’t have to do it all alone.
If you're feeling stretched, I’d love to chat. Even if you’re not sure what kind of help you need yet, let’s start the conversation.
You deserve to feel excited about your business again—not just busy.
